Oh, so much to write about! I suppose I should be happy that so much shit-storm is happening all around me so I have something funny to write about.....Eh.
It almost came to this today...
minus the celebrities, because let's face it....we're just a bunch of old unknown bitches.

Thankfully the Clash @ Cambridge didn't involve me, though I was in the vicinity. Luckily, I didn't get sprayed with any blood (probably because I walked away - whew!).
The Clash actually started yesterday (though, in reality, I'm sure it started eons ago) and carried over into today. I really thought it was going to come to blows.
These are grown-ass women. Behaving like thugged-out teenage bitches. Ridiculous. But fodder for my blog! Yeah me!
So, of course, the attorney's called a meeting late in the afternoon to hash it all out. One of the fighters left the office before the meeting. In tears. I asked one attorney if we were still meeting without her and he said Yes. I didn't like that. I mean, it was just going to become a bitchfest about that woman who wasn't there to defend herself....and granted, that's the choice she made and would she stand up for me in my absence? Hell no. But I couldn't be a part of it so I expressed my reluctance to participate in the group-staff meeting (I think my exact words were, "I don't think this is a safe environment to express our feelings..." - The church finally comes in handy! Thanks, Pastor D for teaching me so damn much...) and so I was excused from the group meeting. I didn't even have to unlock the door or answer the phone! It was 45 minutes of bliss. And then they were done & I went in to meet with the attorney's individually.
Probably the best thing I could have ever done.

Compliments galore! They were worried I was going to leave because I said something like I didn't think the whole atmosphere of the office was conducive to trust & respect so they were like, "Shit, she's leaving..." I explained that if I wasn't in a good place myself, I probably would have walked out week 2. But I am in a good place and if people want to be crazy cranky-pants, that has nothing to do with me and I can just ignore it. However, I did say that one of the women scares me. The other one, I can read well and figure out her mood and base how I deal with her from that (though a person shouldn't have to do that...). But the one that scares me? She goes from calm to crazy in 1.2 seconds. She's completely unpredictable. A person like that
should be feared.
Compliment, compliment, compliment. Man, I wish these two bitches fought more often so I could hear how fabulously awesome I am, lol! I screw up daily - DAILY - but somehow that's better than what's been going on so I left there feeling pretty darn good.
Monday is going to be SO exciting!
Here's the problem with having such a hyped-up day: I want to drink. Bad. Bad. Bad. I even thought about calling my newly-sober-friend and asking if he wanted to go shoot pool at the bar - sober, of course, but come on. Who am I kidding? A bar? Feeling like this? Stupid. And I knew it was stupid so I called an AA friend and he talked me off that ledge.
*head shake*
Would I blow 4 years of sobriety? For what? To unwind me from my day? A hot bath did just as well and my life isn't ruined afterward, so I think I made the right call.
I joined OKCupid again. Did I tell you that? I think I did, but after I joined, I started chatting with a couple of guys...and then I got a message from a 22 year old hottie. 22. Yep, 22. I'm old enough to be his mother. But geez, he's so damn cute, how can I say no? I went on a date with one guy (30) and while he was cute, it was ruined after he opened his mouth. Fake laugh, anyone? It was as if he were Pinocchio pretending to be a real boy. Weird. And another guy (31) who sent me a picture of him.....from probably 50 lbs & 10 years ago. Am I the only one on that website who puts actual, real-life, right-now pictures of themselves up? Another guy -totally cute- found out his picture was of this guy:
 |
| MLB player, Richie Shaffer |
And it was this
exact picture only cropped so you couldn't see the baseball cap logo. Idiot. I called him on it and he claimed it was really him so I said, "If you're really Richie Shaffer of the Tampa Bay Rays, WTF are you doing in Ames, IA?" No response. Really?
And today's hilarious message: "I'm interested in having sex with you. How can we make that happen?"
I'm still pondering my response because I want it to be a zinger. I just texted my extra-witty friend to see what he can come up with because my brain's too stuck on today's cat-fight.
*sigh*
And now I think I'm calm enough since the fear of drinking is gone - Praise the FSM- to go snuggle with Garfield in my nice, cozy, comfy, warm bed.....
Have a good weekend, ya'all!
